Ron Fensom is a Halswell identity and a tireless advocate of the area over many years.

He founded the Halswell Residents Association 21 years ago and is its current chairperson; he has been involved with the Halswell Lions Club for 36 years, and is active in the local RSA and Probus Clubs.   He has been the chairman of the Halswell ANZAC Ceremony Organizing  Committee since it started in 2002.  At that time attendance was approximately 500; since then it has grown to ver 3000.

His activities on behalf of Halswell have included many submissions and lobbying of local and central government and service on advisory boards and committees.   For 15 years he lobbied tirelessly and successfully to get an extension to the Halswell Domain and is currently involved in fund-raising for floodlights and for parking restrictions immediately in front of the Halswell War Memorial on Halswell Rd.

He was awarded the Queen’s Service Medal for Community Service in 2004.   He has taken many photos over the years of which these are a selection.
