Memorial to the memory of bandsmen who fell in the Great War. In North Hagley Park.

This was the first memorial in New Zealand to be erected to the memory of bandsmen who fell in the Great War. It was designed by S. & A. Luttrell and erected in 1926. It was opened by Sir Heaton Rhodes

The Bandsmen's Memorial is a white, round-columned rotunda in Harman's Grove overlooking the Primula Garden, North Hagley Park. It was erected to commemorate the bandsmen who lost their lives in World War I. In the spring it is surrounded by thousands of daffodils and is used for musical programs.
