An annual weekend festival held at Okuti River celebrating drums from around the world

Hosted by the Little River Campground and Manaia Native Habitat, the festival is a dedicated drum festival set on the banks of the Okuti River on Banks Peninsula. The festival celebrates drums from around the globe, with African, Indian, Arabic, Asian and contemporary drum kits.

The weekend event includes cultural drum groups from around New Zealand performing rhythms from Africa, Asia, the Middle East and South America plus drum and dance workshops and evening camp-fire tribal drumming.

Performers and teachers at the festival have included Lisa Tui, Ra McRostie, Doug Brush, Robert Fugah, Robert Koffie, Joseph Chitongo and Takumi
Japanese Drum Group.
