Topic type:

Roimata Food Commons, is a community garden and orchard located in Woolston's Radley Park.

The Roimata Food Commons was instiagted by local resident, Michael Reynolds in 2017 with the idea of creating an edible garden and food hub for Woolston community.

"The vision is to create a multi-faceted community food hub with fruit and berry orchards and large beds to grow vegetables and herbs. The produce from the orchard and garden can then be harvested by the local community to feed those who put time into the garden and/or to support those in need in our hapori/community." (FB page)

The first planting of 30 fruit trees in the commons occured on 12 August 2017.
