Caption

The bridge in the background is the bridge in the Botanic gardens near the kiosk. A relative of mine, Nellie Jakins, is the elder child holding hands with the Murray children (her niece and nephews) Nancy, Dubby (Douglas) and Jim. These are descendents of Isaac Negus Jakins, a Harley St. surgeon. My father, Alan Bean, is also a surgeon (retired) five generations forward.

Date: early 1900s

Entry in the 2014 Christchurch City Libraries Photo Hunt by Joanna Bean.
