Topic: Former Horse Bazaar, 141 Lichfield Street - Earthquake damage and Beyond

Topic type:

The building suffered some damage on 4 September 2010 with gable ends partially collapsing.  It is understood that some brickwork was subsequently removed and the building made waterproof.

Brickwork above the entrances to the building on both Lichfield and Madras Streets came loose with some masonry falling into the street on the 22 February. The parapets have had strengthening undertaken previously so damage in September and following Boxing Day was minimal.
